Champion Interview
On March 15th, 2009 a new Japan Champion was crowned,
12 year old Sota Takamori. Busy getting in shape for the World Championships on April 18-19, we asked Sota to stop practicing long enough to answer a few questions.

Hi Sota, how old are you? |
|
| |
I'm 12. This April I'll be starting Jr. High School. |
|
| |

How did you start Sport Stacking? |
|
| |
I saw Emily Fox and her brothers stacking against each other on TV and they were going really fast and I thought, "I've gotta try this!" |

How long have you been stacking? |
|
| |
One year and two months. |
|
| |
|
|
| 4). |
Has anything changed since you started Sport Stacking? |
|
| |
I've noticed it has improved my concentration and made me much more ambidextrous! |

Was this your first time to enter a Sport Stacking Championship? |
|
| |
Actually this is my second tournament. I entered last year's after I had been stacking just two months. |

What is your goal at the upcoming World Championships? |
|
| |
Well, in my age division (12 years old), there are lots of stackers getting in the 6 second range for the Cycle, so I'll have to really do well just to make it into the preliminaries! Then, if I can make it into the finals, I would like to break all of my best times and maybe set some new Japan records. |

When your not stacking, how do you keep busy? |
|
| |
I like to do the Rubik's Cube and also like to play the drums . Another thing is... I like to try to memorize the number Pi. |

What are you looking forward to as you attend the World Championships? |
|
| |
Sport stacking is not only something you do by yourself, so I'm looking forward to joining stackers from all over the world and enjoy sport stacking with everyone! Since this is my first time, I'm sure to be nervous, but I'm gonna try my best and just have fun! |
